In Support of Warrior Camp

Please join us on Sunday, June 3rd from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Cocoa Bar (21 Clinton Street, between Houston and Stanton) for an evening in support of Warrior Camp, a ground-breaking program for active duty warriors who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Warrior Camp's mission is to create an environment in which the trauma of war can be healed. Camps include a healthy balance of trauma therapies, relaxation and leisure activities.

The evening will include a musical performance by Steven Worthy and a short video will be shown by Eva Usadi, founder and director of Trauma and Resiliency Resources.

10-Minute Plays at Cocoa Bar Garden

Next Monday, May 14th at 7pm Cocoa Bar will be hosting a series of 10-minute plays in the garden at Cocoa Bar's Park Slope location. The works will feature a group of talented writers, directors, and actors.

Mother's Day Special

Cocoa Bar's signature Chocoholic's Platter is the perfect dessert for two: a rich, flourless chocolate cake, two chocolate patties, and a selection of six bon-bons. And next Sunday, May 13th, is the perfect day to share it! This Mother's Day, each Chocoholic's Platter will receive two free glasses of wine. A delicious complement to an already delicious dessert that mothers and others are sure to enjoy!

Artist's Statement:

"The theme of self-introspection is crucial to my art, since I believe that only by delving into the enigmas of the self can an individual truly engage with the world and bring about change in a profound, meaningful way. 

Though I consider myself primarily a Symbolist, my art draws on a wide variety of mythologies, worldviews, religions, and literary traditions, both ancient and modern, ranging from Buddhism to Russian folklore."
